I've use a bitmap to gray scale program that give excellent results with the Logitech scanner. You are right in one respect: THE LOGITECH SOFTWARE SUCKS! IT DOES NOT WORK UNDER WINDOWS 3 AND APPARENTLY, LOGITECH HAS NO PLANS TO RECTIFY THIS SITUATION IN THE FORM OF AN UPDATE ! Other hand scanners are being supplied with grayscale software, but not logitech. Logitech will supposedly release a new Windows package for its scanners in November. The upgrade price will be $79. I just thought I'd give Logitech their fair shake even though I also think they suck!
