Please could anyone with any useful comments on development setups/environments for Windows pass them on to me? I have seen similar requests but not any answers, so IWSTTN (I will summarise to the net!). I have programmed Windows by brute force (MSC V4.0 - V5.0 + SDK V1/2 + microEmacs) for about 3 years and would like to increase productivity, but preferably without extensive re-coding of my various existing 'masterpieces', a couple of which are fairly large (~15,000 lines). I have now got MSC V6.0 / Win 3.0 SDK / DOS 3.3 on PS2/70 plus 4 megs memory, plus Petzold's Bible, and less time than I need. I have looked at some info on the following which seem to be feasible OO development environments, although at different levels of programming complexity: Glockenspiel C++ / CommonView Actor KnowledgePro Windows Some points: ------------ I have used SmallTalk80 on Suns, so am familiar (in a small way) with OOP. I will be using windows 3.0 not OS/2 for pragmatic reasons, irrespective of whether one or both are alive/dead (Unless the smell gets too bad, I suppose). I am involved in building a variety of software tools, many for novice users. I do not do much very low level stuff (I mean Assembler here I suppose). Maximum apologies if this has all appeared before, but with the current volume in comp.ms.windows I might have missed it in amongst all the flames. Thanks Nick.
