[comp.windows.ms] Zortech C++ and Windows 3.0 Linker

db@tc.fluke.COM (Dan Banay) (10/04/90)

As some of you have discovered, the Windows 3.0 SDK does *not* come with
a linker. Since Zortech doesn't provide a Windows compatible linker,
you will need to get in touch with Microsoft and ask for their Supplimental
Compiler Utility Disk. This disk, which is available free of charge, contains
among other things, the linker and librarian. To get in touch with
Microsoft:

* dial 1-800-426-9400

* If you have a touch-tone phone, press 4. If you don't, then wait for
someone to pick up the phone.

* Ask away..

I'm posting this in hopes that it will save someone else the grief/run-around
of getting this stuff.

Greetings all,

I'm in the market for an SVGA analog monitor to
use with a 386 machine. I want to run Windows in
the 800x600 modes. I'm not really interested in
higher resolution than that because I've heard it
can slow down the machine considerably.

I have an ATI VGA Wonder 512 video card. I've been
considering the following monitors:

	Goldstar 1460

	Samsung 1481 or 1487

	Seiko 1440

I know these are interlaced monitors, but I really can't
justify spending more than $500 for a monitor right now.

Does anyone have any info on the quality/reliability/performance
of these models / brands? If you know of a better one in the <$500
range please let me know.

Thanks,

	Dan Kuster
