When trying to install windows 3.0 with an Optima Mega graphics card (VGA) with Tseng ET4000 chip set the following problem occured: I have the drivers from cica.cica.indiana for the ET4000 and tried to install windows 3.0 in 800x600x256 When I was trying to setup 3.0 it seemed to work well with more colours than the standard 16 that I'm familiar with. However when rebooting windows it starts up well in 800x600 resolution but there appear to be only 16 colours! I used the color-setup application under windows to check whether windows was using 256 colours, but there was the same amount of pixel-dithering as before in 16 colours. Are these drivers wrong? or do I need another program to check whether I really do use more colours than 16? Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance, Dick Bakker jr.
