Readers Digest form: I need a driver for Windows 3 to drive my Paradise in 640x400 256 colour mode. Short Essay Form: I have seen much discussion about VGA drivers and the archives of cica.cica.indiana.edu have been MOST helpful to MANY people in this area. I have helped a few using these drivers but... Now I find myself searching!! I have a Commodore PC50-II which has some sort of Paradise builtin vga adapter (part of motherboard) and the documentation indicates that there is no way to get 256 colors at greater than 320x200. So then I am using WordPerfect and I set the graphics screen to 640x400 256 color mode as it lists in the setup for graphics screen under the type paradise. It works. I have good rez AND mucho colours. Great I sez... Now to get a windows driver. I get the paradise drivers from cica.cica and install the 640x480 256 colour driver. Blortch. I get multiple ghosts of screens on screen making it hard to use :-) Thus the question: Doesn anyone know of a windows driver that will make windows get me 640x400 256 colours mode on my PC50-II Paradise VGA? Thanks... Lingering questions: If I know what mode to put it in will the generic sv800.drv set to that mode do the trick?? Is there a way to tell what mode WordPerfect has put the sucker into? In WordPerfect and when I had win3 set to the not properly functioning 640x480x256 mode I saw snow on the screen as things were updating. Also things seemed slower on screen. Is this common? Does anybody really know what type adapter is builtin to the Commodore PC 50-II (386SX 16MHz) Passing Remarks: In case anybody cares, I think the Commodore PC 50-II is a decent machine. Quick, priced right and well equipped.
