Hello. I just downloaded wincomm2.zip from cica. It unzipped and installed fine, but it doesn't run at all on my system. a) Dials the modem, then immediately pops up a message saying no carrier detected. b) Anytime I the program, it takes windows down with it; a box pops up saying can't access aux. Here's my system config: Mylex 20MHz MB, 64K cache, Phoenix BIOS, 8Meg, conner 3104 100M IDE drive. Paradise 1024i card with 512K Smartmodem 2400 (pretty generic), hayes compatible, configured on com4. Win 3.0 running in debug configuration. This is a configuration with a different kernel.exe which people with SDK can setup for debugging windows programs. This is a pickier version of windows, and will try to tell you of possibly illegal code that the non-debug version sometimes accepts. I am surprized how many win apps are released that don't work under the debug config. How did the authors debug the program? Oh well. Milan .

Hello all, I having downloaded wincomm2.zip from cica and installing it on my system has run into many problems. First of all I cannot get it to dial out on my modem. I have everything set up, using the custom settings as I have to use a pulse dial phone. I can tell the modem connects with the other system, but wincomm never seems to know that. If I go back and tell wincomm to direct connect, it then works. But that shouldn't be required. Also I have gotten various "Application Fatal Error" and windows kills the process. I really want to like this program. But so far, it doesn't work for me. It's also very slow.. I have a 80386sx running at 16mhz with 4 megs of memory and smartdrv enabled with a 2meg cache. tim smith tim@chaos.math.uakron.edu

This is what Wincomm keys on for connecting. Email me details of what caused the Unrecoverable App Error because they really need to fix that. Butch
