Hi All,
I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. Sometimes when I
try to run a non-windows application, Windows comes back with a message
that the application has violated system integrity and instructs me to
close all applications and re-boot the system. This does not happen every
time that I run an application and has happened with several different
applications (I typically run WordPerfect 5.1 and the ZSTEM240 terminal
emulator, each as full screen). I have not seen any consistance to when or
why this happens. My system configuration, you ask?
80386 AT compatible (Intel 302)
Orchid ProDesigner VGA
Locus Computing PC Interface (NFS-like network)
DOS 3.1
Windows 3.0
It doesn't seem to matter if I run the application off of a local hard disk
or from the networked disk.
Any comments, suggestions, flames??? (well, no flames I hope) Please
e-mail (ther's too much traffic in this group already) and I'll summarize
if necessary.
Thanks in advance,
Tom Soukup

Well, I can't provide poor Tom with any help, but I can offer him some
company!
My system: 386/20 (VIP) motherboard (4M RAM)
Trident VGA (512K)
WD8003 Ethernet

Microsoft Inport Mouse
IBM PC-DOS 3.30
Windows 3.0 acts weird frequently, giving various symptoms. One is
repeatable: If I load Telix 3.12 and have it dial a number repeatedly, then
reduce Telix to an icon and fire up WordPerfect 5.1, WP will eventually die.
("Violated System Integrity") If I load WP first, Telix won't load at all.
I like the multitask possibilities offered by WIN30, but from my own
personal experience it just isn't soup yet.

I used to get the "Application violation system integrity!" message
quite often, when running more than 1 DOS window and the Norton
Commander. I finally got rid of the problem by not pre-loading any TSR
before entering Windows.
Instead, once I bring up a Dos Window (or in the Norton Commander bat
file), I load the TSRs I use.
For what its worth.
