Greetings; I am having a slight problem with my new Panasonic KX-P1124, and am wondering if anyone else has seen this...Brought the printer home last nite and connected it to my Austin 386-25. It self-tested fine. Popped into the control panel and installed the driver for the Epson LQ-2500 (which the Panasonic emulates). That went fine. Loaded Word for Windows and started printing a document. It died in the middle of the document, and complained about LPT1 being broken. After some debugging, I determined that I could print fine via DOS, but trying to print from within Windows did not work. I deleted the printer, and when I tried re-installing it, Windows complained that the driver file was corrupt. I brought the disk with the driver on it to work, and installed it on my Toshiba T-5200. It installed without a hitch. ???!!!! Again, I can print via DOS, so I know the printer is fine. But, within Windows, nuttin happens! Can't print from Windows apps, or from the File Manager. I am considering going home tonite and re-installing Windows, but would like to avoid this if possible. I did select the right driver, installed it on the right port, made the printer active, etc etc etc, but no go. I also tried installing the IBM Proprinter driver, since the Panasonic will emulate that too, just to see if the Epson file was the culprit. Hmm... have you tried using LPT1.OS2 instead of LPT1?
