YES!  I've converted a few .GIF's to .BMP's, but only a select number of
them look good enough in 16 colors (or ditherred) to use.  I'd be interested
to see what kind of stuff other people have managed to put together.
Sure, it chews some memory... I've got plenty :-)

Well, let's go then.   cica.cica.indiana.edu [129.79.20.22] has
anonymous ftp support.  The .BMP files can/should be placed in
the pub/pc/win3 subdirectory.  There are already a few files in there,
mainly what's been put on this group in the last few days (sv800.arc,
tetriss.zip, taipei.zip, fuse.zip, etc.

Aplogies if this has already been discussed ad-infinitum, but does
anyone know of any archive of pictures/bitmaps etc. which I could use as
windows wallpaper, IN THE UK, and preferably on JANET.  There seem to be
plenty of sites in the states, but I haven't been able to track one down
here.
