Well, they might save you gas, depends on how you drive. The advantage is a more aerodynamic front end but then they do add weight. The faster you go the more the aerodynamics should outweight the added weight. If you drive slowly the added weight will make you use more gas. Then again the downforce added the front of the car might make it handle differently at high speeds.
