I use Excel here under Windows 2.11; unfortunately, it quickly runs out RAM with large spreadsheets. Will the same problem exist under Windows 3.0? Or will Windows 3.0 handle large spreadsheets by swapping to disk? I don't care if it's slow, as long as it doesn't run out of memory. I'm considering upgrading to Windows 3.0 and buying Excel at home, and I want to know whether I should plan on buying more RAM at the same time. (I know it will work FASTER if I buy more RAM; my question is whether I NEED to buy more RAM). -- Clayton E. You must be kidding! No company would hold opinions like mine!

It depends on what mode you are running in. In 386 Enhanced Mode yes you can just use virtual memory if you have a minimum of 2 megs. You really need the memory however for standard. Chirs
