I'm running win3 with a GTK 512K video card (Paradise 1024 chipset). I recently copied the Paradise drivers from cica.cica and although the 800x600x16, and 1024x768x16 modes work fine, the 640x480x256 mode has problems. Windows starts up and will work in this mode for a while but then stops updating the screen. Using keyboard commands, I have determined that Windows is still operating (I can print out a file). (I can't tell if the mouse still works). Normally, Norton SI identifies my video as EGA with 256K memory (even though I have 512K) but after this Windows crash if I exit windows and do SI (> PRN) it says I have CGA graphics and identifies no video memory. Has anyone had success using this driver? Any suggestions for a fix? Yes, I have tried excluding the display memory with EMMExclude. Yes, the problem occurs in real, standard, and enhanced mode, with or without smartDrive, with or without the mouse driver. No, the card does not automatically sense the video mode. No memory resident programs other than HIMEM.SYS are present at startup of Windows. I'm running a 25 MHz 386 with 2 Meg RAM, DOS 3.30 AMI BIOS. The video card runs something called VGA alpha 1024 video BIOS. I would be very grateful if y'all could e-mail me hints, tips, and suggestions to woodle@bnldag.bnl.gov.
