I find the Icons and fonts too small in the 1024 by ... mode, but I like to have 256 colors. (Right now I am running windows under VGA mode). Is it possible to have windows run under SVGA modes like 640x400x256 or 800x600x256 with my setup? Thanks in advance ! Well, I THINK it's possible to run the 8514/A-adapter in 640*480 resolution with 256 colors. And for that you shouldn't even need a 8514 compatible monitor, just a normal VGA. -- _________ Teemu Mottonen | | internet: tmottonen@cc.helsinki.Fi University of Helsinki | | bitnet: TMOTTONEN@FINUH Dept.of Computer Science |_________| decnet: HYLK::TMOTTONEN

And most importantly, is there a driver that supports this? -- Bob Goodearl -- goodearl@world.std.com

I have one of these adapters, but I can't understand that someone wouldn't want to use the 1024x768x256 mode. I don't mind the icons to be small as long as I have full work space. I think it's nice to be able to run both paintbrush and write at normal size and still have space left over. /Ingvar
