Hi Netters, Does anyone out there know the state of Patrick Deupree's attempt to port nethack to Microsoft Windows ? I mailed Patrick a couple of times after I suggested the idea and he picked it up, but know I have come back from a couple of weeks holiday and my mail to him is bouncing. Are you out there Patrick ? Have you moved or something ? ant -- V ant "It's great to be young and insane" \o/ ant@brolga.cc.uq.oz.au - Dream Team -O- Anthony Murdoch Prentice Computer Centre /0\ Phone (07) 3774078 University of Qld

Basically, here's the status on nethack. Before I left Chicago I was looking at the code and had come up with about three or four different ways to handle things within the current frame work of the nethack code. I still remember where things are, so I can pick this up again at any time. The problem here is this. The computer I've got at work now is rather weak, and my project is in Windows 2.1. At this time I don't have the Windows 3.0 SDK and I don't have an MSC compiler that I can use. I was going to get a compiler to do my Windows in, but it never came (possibly due to my sudden change in location). My computer at home is an XT 286 with 640K. This will not do. So, the project is on hold until I can get a new computer and the proper software. However, I will still do this. It might be a couple more months before I can get back to it, though.
