[comp.windows.ms] ATI 648x480x256 drivers?

Well, the new 800x600x256 driver works great...sort of..

   - it's slow -- even on my 486 with 8 meg of ram
   - color-cycling apps cause random dots to dance on my screen
   - wingif (version .8) creates strange horizontal lines while
     loading the image

I have a version 5-1.00 card, my roommate has a 3-1.07 card.
Both cards have these problems.

So, where's the 640x480x256 driver?  Fewer bits to move around so
should be a lot faster (I hope).  And I won't have to squint at
the fonts :-)
