Has anyone gotten a fax card to receive faxes in the background?? Symptoms: When the fax program is running (I assume) in the background the fax card does not answer incoming calls. As soon as I bring the fax program to the foreground the fax card answers the incoming call. One further piece of information of interest: I use a fax switch between the computer fax card and the telco spigot. When a fax comes in I can hear the fax switch repeatedly trying to send the fax to the computer but the computer fax is not answering. Yes, I have also patched around the fax switch with the same results. Settings: I have created a pif for the fax software and have enabled background execution. Memory has been set to 640K required. The only advance feature setting that has been changed from default if video display is set to low res graphics. Everything works perfectly as long as the fax program is running in the forground. It is only when I have minimized the program to a background icon that it refuses to work. The dealer that I purchased the fax card from trys to be helpfull but there knowledge of Windows 3.0 is minimal at best and I cannot afford to wait on hold to Mickeysoft for hours at a time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks gls -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Gary L.
