[comp.windows.ms] New ATI 256 bug! It figures...

daly@ecs.umass.edu (11/06/90)

Arrrrrg! No sooner than I think that the new ATI driver is working well, that
I discover a new bug in the driver! The problem wingif had with the pictures
being drawn upside-down (and outside the display window) is gone, but the new
bug is much worse. Whenever I move the mouse pointer to near the top of the
screen, the screen squishes into two parts, each an entire version of the
real screen. The top one is centered correctly, and the bottom one wraps
around from left to right. The pointer still moves around; I am able to see
it in both halves and close the windows session. When I restart, evertything
is normal again (until I move the mouse to the top).

Has anyone else had this problem? I don't think the old version had it.

Bryon Daly

PS: The new driver does seem to have better perfomance than the older 256
color one.

I discovered another bug. When I run Windows, right side of the Program Manager
window is chopped off. Did anyone else saw the irregularity?

Forget about this one, I realized that I had to re-setup Windows from scratch
in order for the windows to be re-sized. The README.TXT file in the ZIP file
doesn't warn me about this.
