Well, I finally have a reasonably stable Windows system (only took about 3 months...). I called MS tech support and had an apparently unusual experience: Good! The tech person was very helpful and knowledgable, and spent at least 30 minutes with me. We solved most of my problems in that time. (Hold time was about 5 minutes) The system: VIP 386DX/20 Motherboard (C&T ChipSet) 4MB RAM Microsoft Inport Mouse DFI HS3000+ Scanner 1.2M (A:), 360K(B:) COM1, COM2, COM3, LPT1 CMS Tape backup w/adapter board Trident VGA 512K (C000) WD8003 Ethernet (RAM D000) Seagate ST-02 SCSI (C800) w/ST296N 3 normal (<32MB) partitions IBM PC-DOS 3.30 The one remaining hitch is that WordPerfect 5.1 blows up ("Violated System Integrity...") when I attempt to print graphics. All other WP functions (that I've tried) have worked, including View Document. Has anyone else had -- and solved -- this problem? I do _not_ want to upgrade to WP for Windows! (When released ;-) I use Windows for its multitasking capabilities. I don't like the GUI, I just put up with it. Incidentally, the big fix for my system was an emmexclude line telling WIN30 where all my ROM extensions (and the network RAM (probably the culprit)) were. ----------------------------------------------------- Gordon S.
