Has anybody else had a problem with Windows 3.0 putting garbage on the harddisk when there is no floppy in drive a:? It has happened twice now. From a file Selector, I will, by accident, click on A:, and it comes up with a message saying it can't read A: (Obviously,, because there is no floppy in at the time) So I select Cancel and it locks the system. When I reboot it's put trash in the windows directory which cannot be removed by anything short of reformating the drive. If I leave the trash there, files start dissappearing, until nothing is left at all on drive C:. Does anybody know what I'm talking about, and why it is happening? -Jeremy DuBois

I had the same problem with early versions of Screen Peace. Are you using
it? If so, you should be using at least version 1.2. I never had the
problem of losing files or getting a trashed hard drive from it, just the
lockup you describe above.

My friend has had a very similar problem and I think it may have something to do with the fact that he uses a scsi disk controller that adds bios entries and win3 can't deal with it.
