I am vaguely aware of a past or present bug in the interaction of (I believe) Windows 3.0, Disk Manager, and hard drives with more than 1024 cylinders. The rumored effect involves significant data loss. I would like to know whether this bug still exists, and how to identify/avoid a potentially dangerous configuration. If the bug has been fixed, please indicate which revisions/dates of the involved programs are safe. I did not find this question addressed in the faq list. Perhaps it would be valuable to include it. Many thanks for any information. John -- CSNET jbthiel@cse.ogi.edu UUCP ...{sun,tektronix,verdix}!ogicse!jbthiel formerly cse.ogc.edu and ogccse
