I need to get a 1024x786x256 screen image into BMP format so that I can play with the image using Windows 3.0 stuff. I cannot use the window screen capture utility (i.e. press the Print Screen Key) because the image is too big. Anybody know of any utilities that would let me capture the screen into a BMP file, or convert the raw data file to one? -Jer

There's a program called HiJaak from Inset Systems that allows you to capture screens and convert them among a variety of formats, including PCX. Once you have a PCX file, you can load it into Windows and save it as a BMP. I have a very old version; perhaps one of the later versions allows conversions to BMP directly. -Sanjay Aiyagari (hd7x@vax5.cit.cornell.edu)
