I have been having problems when I try to install Windows 3.0. It started when I went to instal some 3rd party video drivers (Ati). It will start the install ad then it will prompt for a disk and I put the disk in and it does not recognized the new disk in it. I then exit Setup and neither my A: nor my B: is accesable. It is like the drive door is open. Has anyone ran into this problem. It sometimes happens on the second disk and sometimes on later disks. I had a similar problem. I tried to install the Entertainment Pack in Drive A (high-density), but DOS wanted to prompt me with "Insert disk in Drive A and type any key to continue". I guess this has to do with DRIVER.SYS or something, I usually get it the first time I use a disk, or change format (i.e. high density to low density). Anyway, the problem was that the prompt didn't make it all the way through Windows and back to me, so nothing happened (no error message, no nothing). When I went back to DOS and tried to read the disk, I got the message, just typed ENTER and everything was OK. Then Windows worked normally when I went back in. - Jim =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "The opinions expressed here in no way represent the views of Digital Equipment Corporation."
