[comp.windows.ms] Expanded memory AND extended

Help! I've been using Win3 in 386enhanced mode for a couple months. The
system was set up with 4MB (1MB conv+3MB extend). I need to change 1MB of
the extended to expanded though. Since I've set up the system with 1MB of
expanded memory, and 2MB of extended, Windows doesn't want to run in enhanced
mode. It starts up in standard. I was under the impression that it would
run in enhanced mode with 1MB+2MB (and even less than that). In standard
mode it will tell me that I have ~2200k free. What I'm wondering, is the
expanded memory/emm driver getting in the way, or do I just not have enough
RAM? Is anyone currently/or has succesfully run Windows with expanded
memory? (I don't want to run Windows to run the DOS app that needs the
expanded, so using the EMM386 driver won't do it).

I'm using a 386SX-16, 4MB, NEAT chipset.. the EMM4 driver says it is a
"Evaluation" copy or somesuch.

Thanks for any help.
