[comp.windows.ms] Ad Lib or Sound Blaster support

tuck@iris.ucdavis.edu (Devon Tuck) (11/28/90)

Those of you who read this, thanks for the answers to my question regarding
GIF2BMP. I have more than enough to go on now.

I was curious whether there are any good sound packages out for windows
which use, or support the Ad Lib or Sound Blaster card. I understand there
are some guitar programs, and speach programs out, but It looks like most
of them support other specific equipment.

Thanks,
	Devon

Just to add more to the request...

Some people here at U of T might be interested in audio with something
like ToolBook or Plus. Does anybody know of some good sound equipment
with toolbook or plus drivers?

Things that are desireable:
Sound attached to buttons
Digitize sound easily.
Play back sound easily.
Synthesize speech from text files. Preferably in a nice natural voice for
linguistics. The ability to add codes to the text file to get proper
intonation would be preferable. Ability to speak foreign languages like
Italian would be nice!
