I have a problem which bugs the hell out of me. I'm sure there must be someone else out there with the same problems, so here goes. I'm running Windows 3.0 on an Everex 386sx w/ 4mb of Memory, and Ventura Publisher for Windows v3.0, and just loaded on Adobe Type Manager v1.0. At home (where this machine is) I just have a dot matrix setup, but I still do layout & editing, etc. to take back to work & print out. The problem is, whenever I bring up Ventura, with ATM loaded and active, somewhere in the process of loading, opening a chapter, or printing the machine will reboot. Is there some .INI settings I should be changing, or specific cache sizes I should be setting that I'm not aware of? Software-wise I am running MS-DOS v4.01 with SpeedStor 6.0.3, QEMM v5.11 memory Manager, 4DOS v3.02a, SmartDrive 3.03 (512k cache), Logitech Mouse Drive v4.10. That's about all the software I would think would be affecting Windows/ATM/Ventura. 99% of the time I cannot even get to the printing stage. It will reboot and leave just a flashing cursor in the upper left hand corner of the screen while loading VP, or opening a chapter. If it is any consolation, Bitstream's Facelift for Windows wouldn't even load Ventura. I somehow managed to get VP to come up once, but it took over 5 minutes. Facelift went back in favor of ATM. Here I am back at the starting line.
