Slow? You want slow? I had a brand new 1969 Plymouth Cricket back in 1971. I
mean that thing was so slow the new ones were already two years old! It got
0-40 in something around 3 aeons, and who KNOWS if it could get to 60. This
was a slug! It went downhill ok, but if you were on a .05% grade or
more, forget it.

It had an accurate speedometer, though. We once took it on a TSD rally held
by the Madison (WI) sports car club, and a fully computerized 'Vette was
following us through a 3-mile stretch that we were supposed to do holding
the speed to precisely 32 or something... at the next checkpoint, the
Corvette owner told us his equipment showed us doing the exact speed... we
won a trophy in the Novice class even though our navigation aids only
consisted of a Timex pocket watch and Teledyne 'Versalog' slide rule.

A Very Merry Christmas to you all!!--
