I have Windows 3.0 and Pagemaker V3.01 (windows update) and ATM 1.0 My Question is this. Having installed the PM font metrics how do I get ATM to recognize them. It brings up the font names and begins to install but then falls apart when it looks for *.PFB files to correspond to the PFM files. I think there is a big misunderstanding about ATM and PageMaker and the "extra" fonts. ATM comes with the base 4 fonts (called the base 13!) Times, Helvetica, Courier and Symbol. If you want the other fonts commonly found in the Laser Writer Plus, II etc, you need to purchase the Plus Pack for (list) $199. ATM works with the same outlines that would be sent to the printer. PageMaker does NOT provide these. PageMaker DOES provide METRICS which tell PageMaker how wide etc each character is so that PageMaker can properly determine spacing etc. As always, I would love for someone to tell me that I am wrong and I can save $199 for the extra fonts... but I won't hold my breath watching my e-mail box! Its Christmas Aldus, how about a gift? tj
