[comp.windows.ms] Grammatik.....crashes a lot...

pcb@cacs.usl.edu (Peter C. Bahrs) (12/06/90)

I have never been so disappointed in a nice looking program as I am
with grammatik. I have consistently crashed it while working on large
documents (~50 pages). The crash causes me to cold boot. Small files
work fine. What gives? I am reading word for windows files.

-------------------------------------------------
As a side note (something I mentioned before): I have crashed windows 3.0,
word for windows, designer, actor, grammatik, winqvt, pagemaker and excel
(I have not crased Superbase 4 windows yet). I have done this numerous times
in ordinary usage. This is very annoying. It also makes me wonder about
the testing techniques used by these companies.

A BUG IS STILL A BUG.

I remember a tech rep telling me that...'the bug
is not too bad considering all of the other features that work...' (name
with held). Tell that to the guy desigining pacemakers.

It occurs to me that with the complexity of windows 3.0 type systems,
the host (win3) developer( ms) might come up with a specification of
program functionality that applications should adhere to when interacting
with the environment. For instance, perform a profile on an apps memory
routines access, or on DDE access. Maybe we can all get rid of some
headaches.
