[comp.windows.ms] Paradise extended modes are flaky

berger@anomaly (Mike Berger) (12/07/90)

I installed the recently posted Windows 3.0 display drivers for the
Paradise VGA chipset. There were three drivers supplied:

640*480 256 color
800*600 16 color
1024*768 16 color

The 800*600 driver works nicely. The other two work to some extent, but
not very well. I get color changes, distortion on the display, and
foreground and background colors interact strangely. My VGA is a clone
using the Paradise chipset. It has 512K RAM and seems to run conventional
stuff pretty well. I'm using a Matsushita ViewPerfect 3 multisync monitor.

Has anybody else used those modes successfully? I'm trying to pinpoint
whether the problem is in the drivers or my hardware.
