I have a friend who has a desire to upgrade his video from an Orchid Prodesigner (old) and Nec Multisync II to something with a larger screen and more resolution. Color pallette capacity is not necessarily an issue. However, he has an original 8MHz true-blue IBM PC/AT and has no interest in upgrading it (so far). Most of his work is in Windows (3.0 now). I am concerned that using one of the new high-res video cards (1024x768) and monitors will put a real load on the GUI overhead in drawing such large images on such a slow machine so that he will end up trading off speed for the improved image. Any comments ? Jeff Sicherman
