[comp.windows.ms] Problem with modem configured as COM4 and Windows' Terminal program

kc354645@longs.LANCE.ColoState.Edu (Kung-Yang Chang) (12/21/90)

I have a 386 machine, a Microsoft mouse connected to COM1, and
an internal modem installed onto COM4. I tried to use my modem with
Windows' "Terminal" program in 386 enhanced mode, but Windows would
not let me assign COM4 as the modem connection for the "Terminal"
program and it said that "COM4 is already assigned to DOS." and asked
me to use another COM port. After that moment, my mouse stopped
responding to any movements and clicks.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance!
