Has anyone heard of Excel for Windows Version 2.1d? I received an
upgrade of Excel that was supposed to be version 2.1c, but when I
run the program, it identifies itself as 2.1d. Is this an
improvement over 2.1c, or have I received a mistake.
On a related note: I've noticed that Excel sometimes takes an
incredible amount of time to delete or insert a cell in a large
worksheet. It seems to be fickle: sometimes, it will delete
the cell in a split-second; other times, it might take 15 minutes.
Is this due to a lack of system memory? I am running a 386SX
with 2 MB of RAM.
Thanks.

I don't think it's related to system memory. It probably has more to do with what Excel has to push around to adjust for the insert/delete. If you can just "clear" a cell, it's predictably faster. > >Thanks. > > Tom Solomon > solomon@chaos.utexas.edu >---------- Reed Jacobson
