I am running a logitech GA> serial mouse using the supplied windows 3.0 driver.. I should try the GA> bb. I have four 386s at work which all exhibit this same behaviour, but a 386SX at home which does not. All use identical mice, and identical serial cards, but (obviously) different motherboards and bioses (tho both are Phoenix). I was able to solve the problem at work by choosing the "Logical Serial Mouse" driver (lmouse.drv) rather than the "Microsoft Mouse" (mouse.drv). This has the side effect of long startup times because our mice live on COM2: and the lmouse.drv driver checks COM ports in numerical order, and is quite slow in its interrogation. My impression from the problems I've heard with mice, modems, and 16550 chips that the COM port driver for 386enh mode is flaky. In reporting the above problem to our local Microsoft Technical Support, I all got back was confusion. I'm hoping for new driver in the near future (but no holding my breath).
