I hope this hasn't been covered before, but here goes. I wanted to load about 7 applications at the startup of windows. So I used 'load= etc' to do this. Because none of the programs were in the windows directory, I used the full path, eg c:\.... When I started windows, only 3 programs were loaded, and the 'cannot find file, check path' messege reared its ugly head. I checked the path n win.ini and nothing was wrong. As it turned out, it seems that windows will only load programs on the load line up to a certain number of characters, after that it stops. Has any one experienced this before? Is there anyway to continue the 'load=' file on the next line of win.ini? The solution I came up with was to shorten the path from 'c:\windows\subdirectory\file.exe' to '.\subdirectory\file.exe' But this is only a temporary because I will run into the same problem if I try to load any more files. I hope someone has the answer.
