[comp.windows.ms] Video Seven 800x600, New Driver Problem

merrill@cs.arizona.edu (Darren J. Merrill) (01/31/91)

I just ftp'd the new (or relatively new) Video Seven drivers from cica.
I installed them by running the setup program provided and selected the
800x600x16 driver. Everything seemed to be working great, in fact, the
driver seemed to be much faster than the V7 driver I was using previously.
But, here's the kicker, every now and then, when I open a group in program
Manager or start up file manager (for example, ie- it happens other places
too), part of the background of the window is not painted white, but instead
is filled black. Also, icons in message boxes sometimes only appear as black
boxes.
So, I was (1) wondering if anyone else is having these problems and, (2)
if anyone has a fix for this bug.
My system specifics are as follows:
    - a 386, 20MHz clone with 4MB
    - a V7 Fastwrite VGA w/256k
    - win 3.0
    - ATM 1.0

P.S. - The old 800x600x16 driver, which I have deleted (for I was initially
thrilled with this NEW driver) had given me no problems whats-so-ever.

Please Help....
