I'm new at this, and therefore asking a very simple question which probably has a simple answer. I tried yesterday to download something from cica (fish3.zip, as an experiment). Got ftp to work, set mode to binary, retrieved pkunzip.exe from starter directory and fish3.zip from the games directory. So far so good. Moved both on to my PC. Question then arises: what's the syntax to use pkunzip to unzip fish3? Tried the obvious "pkunzip fish3.zip", to no avail: something loads, then the whole system hangs and must be rebooted. Ditto for every other permutation I could think of. Ditto when I moved the files from Unix workstation to PC another way (originally used doswrite to a 3.5" floppy, and then read files from that; then tried kermitting with file type binary; same outcome). What am I supposed to do? Equipment is a Dell 316SX 386sx, Phoenix BIOS, etc, unmodified. Same thing happens on a PS/2-50Z 286. -- Greg Jackson 20B-140/MIT/Cambridge MA 02139 (617) 253-3712
