Don't seem to find this info in the FAQ file I have from january so thought I'd pass it along. Any drive you can format from DOS, outside of windows, without adding parameters like /T ot /N, can be formatted from the filemanager menus. Someone may have a counter example but I have found that adding a DEVICE=DRIVER.SYS /D:# /F:# line n config.sys allows me to access the drive in DOS or Windows without problem. The /D:# parameter tell it which floppy you are talking about 0=A,1=B,2=(?D on mine)... and /F:# specifies the density 0=360K,1=1.2M,3=720K. Just incase it matters I'm running on an IBM PS/2 55sx with 2Meg extended memory and IBM DOS Version 4.01, A 1.44Meg standard floppy on drive A and a CMS 1.2Meg external floppy on drive B. Hope this helps someone. -- --- Michael Lee Prine IRC (Information Resource Center) consultant Internet: mikep@hydra.unm.edu
