How does one induce the win 3.0 File Manager to appear without any disk directory tree? It is rather slow coming up with my Windows disk directory - the though of it if I had a 150 meg disk with only one drive letter boggles the mind. Doug McDonald

Not only would it be nice to close (or not open) this child window, it would be even nicer if the File Manager would remember its window configuration in its .ini file in much the same way as the Program Manager does. Right now I use the recorder to bring up the File Manager in the position and arrangement I like, but this is slow and reqires me to hit a hot key.

I have a problem using the File Manager included with MS-Windows 3.0. It seems, that I simply cannot copy files from any directories on my diskette drive A: to the C: drive. Not by using the icon dragging feature nor by using the File Menu command 'Copy'. The File Manager acts as if the files are being copied - but looking at the filelist of the C: directory in question, the files have not been copied at all ?? My version runs on an IBM PS/2-60. Am I the only one having such problems. Please mail me, if you have got the answer to my concerns. /Tommy Ravn Jensen email : jnsn@daimi.aau.dk

Does anyone know of a shareware substitue for the cumbersome file manager? If so could you send me an ftp address where i could find one. thanks pevans@jarthur.claremont.edu
