[comp.windows.ms] Starting PS/2 in Windows 3.0 instead of DOS

Hi there,

I'm a VERY new user to Windows. I just got a PS/2 55SX this
past weekend. I apologize if this has been asked before,
but is there a way to have my PS/2 start in Windows (I don't
mind if the banner shows or not) instead of DOS. Right now
it starts in a DOS (4.0 BTW) window, you have to choose to
go to the prompt, and then type win to get to Windows. Also,
when I choose the DOS icon from inside Windows it doesn't work.
It just brings me back to Windows. I have to actually quit
out of Windows to get to DOS and then type win to get back
to Windows again. I'd like it to boot up to Windows when
it first starts and have the DOS icon work to get me to DOS.

Any help would be appreciated!

Also, while I'm here I have some other software loaded on it
which I can get to through File Manager (and then choosing Run
on Windows) but I can't get an Icon for it on Windows (from
the Setup Icon choosing finding Applications on the C: drive).
Is there some way to get icons for everything or some software
just doesn't run that way from Windows?

Thanks again!
