I want to invest again. I have a ps2 20 16mhz and a compaq 386/25 both running windows fine. I have selected several new candidate and I am really concerned with win3 compatiblity especially wrt performance of video system (i.e. does the system crawl in 256 color mode). Any comments? 1) $2395 Gateway 386 25mhz, 4mb ram, 1.2 & 1.44 diskettes, 80mbHD, 16bit video w/ 1MB ram, 14" Super vga Mag Computronic .28 dot pitch max 1024/768, 101 keyboard, ms mouse, 1parallel, 2 serial, Dos 3.3, Win3 2) $4147 Dell 386 25mhz, 4mb Ram, 80mb HD, 1.22 & 1.44 diskette, Super vga by NEC 14" max 800x600, 512k, Dos, Win3, ms mouse. 3) $3665 Northgate 386 25mhz, 4mb RAM, 64k cache, Super vga Panasonic 14" max res 1024x768, ultra keyboard, ms mouse, win3, Orchid Prodesigner 512k 4) $2503 PC Brand, 386 25mhz, 4mb RAM, 80mb HD, Supervga CTX 14" 1024x768 I have hear a lot about slow high color drivers. I have also heard that ther are some fast cards for windows with 1mb memory that do not degrade performance with 256 colors. I want just a good windows 3.0+ machine. /*----------- Thanks in advance... --------------------------------------+ | Peter C.
