I activated my terminal manager under windows and it worked
well, with these caveats/questions for the wisdom of the net:
1-It seems to allow a LIMITED amount of modem commands to be
entered, i.e. ATS1=0, ATL1, etc
Can I issue them directly from within terminal?
2-I tried downloading using the kermit protocal and it did work.
But, I wanted to set the packet size to 1000 bytes instead of
the normal size of about 90 bytes. I find it MUCH faster
at 1000 bytes with no drop off due to noise, etc.
Is there anyway to set the packet length on WINDOWS 3.0 kermit?
The KERMIT command is:
set packet-length 1000
Also, are there any other kermit commands I can issue in that
enviromment? - set block check 3, etc
3-Everything I received from the host is displayed wrong:
query time
T I M E I S 2 1 : 3 4 : 5 6 <----host response
instead of
TIME IS 21:34:56
Any idea why?
Otherwise, it works well in that I can download files as a background
task while I work in WRITE as a foreground task, generating and
printing memos.
BTW, I have looked in my documentation and have no answers (yet)
to the above questions.
Thanks for any tips,
