[comp.windows.ms] Hate slow typing in WfW??

(Rhetorical question) Did you ever experience WfW getting somewhat sluggish
when typing on a line that has multiple fonts/sizes/attributes? Me, too.
The fix, I found out, was to go into Printer Setup, re-setup your favorite
printer, and return to WfW. Everything will be hunkey-dorey, and WfW will
no longer lose characters to hunt-and peckers.

Ah, the catch: my experience has been that with ATM and a Epson 9-pinner,
WfW doesn't save whatever the Setup deal sets in it. I remember that back
when I used Bitstream fonts, I'd only have to do this once after changing
fonts. With ATM, WfW reverts to its pokey alter-ego upon re-boot. At
least for me. If you don't notice this, maybe my WIN.INI is simply too
battle-scarred to be dependable (there are still sections in it from when
I was using Windows/286 on an XT--according to some comments I stuck in it!)

Anywho, it just dawned on me that there are those who say WfW is fine in speed
and others who claim they can outtype it. I wonder if those stuck in the
slow lane are experiencing the same thing I am. I doubt this is in the manual,
but I didn't check.
