I am toying with the idea of writing a simple point-of-sale system with the ability to run a register at a local or remote site. If it works, I will put it in to use, if not, I'll use a commercial package and be content that I learned something by trying. The basic configuration I was considering was a 386 running Windows, with two host copies of PCAnywhere running at the same time, to allow two "cash register" computers to access the same database through either a direct serial connection or modem connection. Is it possible to successfully have two copies of PCAnywhere (or Carbon Copy) running at the same time through separate serial ports? Also, any comments on using the Borland Paradox database engine in this type of configuration? Thank you, Pat
