Hello, Perhaps this is a stupid question, but I honestly do not know the answer and would appreciate any help I might obtain. I am operating remotely on a Zenith 286 PC via a 2400 baud modem with which I connect to our campus network. In one of our on-campus labs, I am able to use an xterm terminal type to create multiple windows on the VAX. My question: Can I do this remotely given that I have only one modem (and phone line)? [I am running Windows 3.0 and use WinQVT as my main communications package.--if it matters] If there is some software which would allow me to do this, is it available from cica or somewhere ftp-able? Thanks for any help and _please_ don't shoot me if this is "stupid". I am also interested in such an application for Windows. The Macintosh has a couple of communications alternatives that offer multiple windows over a serial line. There is one commercial TCP/IP connection package for the Mac that I know of with SLIP support, and I have heard that there is a version of Mac NCSA Telnet that supports SLIP. There is also a product called MacLayers that allows multiple windows over a serial line to a UNIX host without using TCP/IP. I have not investigated either of these alternatives since I don't have a Mac at home. I do have a 386 with Windows 3.0 at home that I would love to use to access campus UNIX machines using multiple windows. Does anyone know of a product, either commercial or shareware, that would support this under Windows? Sorry if this has been covered before. I am new to Windows and to this group. - Michael
