[comp.windows.ms] saving a windows contents

jan@prisma.cv.ruu.nl (Jan Buitenhuis) (02/17/91)

Hello,

I've got the following problem:

I've got a window with colored contents. It uses it's own palette.(256 colors)
What I want to do is to save this contents as a .BMP file.
I tried with ALT-PRTSCR and then pasting it to Paintbrush. It looked
fine. But when I saved it (8 Bit bmp file), it apperently only saved
the 16 colors Paintbrush works with and not all 256 that are in the
picture. Is there another way or an other program then Paintbrush to
save my picture as a .bmp file (including palette etc.)?

Thanks in advance,

Jan Buitenhuis .

The "Save As..." dialog has an Options button that will let you select
the bit depth of the saved bitmap.
