My appologies in advance if this is trival, out of date, or actually a frequently asked question. Our office administrator is using Excel on a PS/2 50 with whatever version of Windows was included over a year ago (2.2?). It all basically works. When she wants to generate output for our Apple Laserwriter she has to select PostScript (defined to go into a file), print, exit Excel / Windows, and run a batch file to transfer the file to the Laserwriter via AppleTalk network. There's not enough room for the networking software and Windows to co-exist on her 1Meg machine. So far so good. The question is whether there is some way to collect more than one piece of output in the printer file. She often needs to print 3 or 4 different spreadsheets for comparison. If she prints them one after another in the "obvious" fashion, which works fine for her locally attached dot matrix printer, only the last spreadsheet is found in the PS output file. Is there some WIN.INI setting or printer setting we've overlooked? Do we have to install some print to file TSR before starting up Windows (pretend we have an LPT3 and let the postscript stuff flow on out into a file)? Would it be better under Windows 3? Is the upgrade reasonably priced? Is it worth the effort (no one else in the office uses Windows nor has any inclination)? --- Thanks in advance, Seth M Powsner powsner@nlm.nih.gov powsner@YaleMed.Bitnet
