(A preliminary remark: I'm using the German version of Winword, so I have to translate the names of some Winword features back into English, which may not give the actual name of the feature in the US version of WinWord). It is possible to add header and footer paragraphs to an WinWord document. I have found no way to *delete* them. Of course, it is possible to *empty* the paragraph, but the paragraph mark stays and is visible in the sequential (non page) view. Selecting the paragraph and hitting the delete key (or using the menu entry) has no effect. The problem is that this empty paragraph needs space. Normally, this is no problem, because the header and footer paragraph is located in the top and bottom border, so an empty header paragraph is invisible. But if a document has to fill the whole page, so that there is no top or bottom border, the accidental creation of a header paragraph creates a unwanted and undeletable gap on the page. One has to cut and paste the whole document into a fresh one in order to remove the unwanted paragraph. Any ideas? Wolfgang Strobl #include <std.disclaimer.hpp>
