Hello, I recently "upgraded" my 386 from the Award 386 BIOS to AMI BIOS to see if I could clear up some of the UAE's that I was getting in Windows 3.0. As one might expect, after upgrading the BIOS, some software that used to work doesn't work anymore! Windows will no longer run in enhanced 386 mode (although it appears to work in standard mode) and Quarterdeck's Manifest program simply refuses to run. I've tried disableing the Cache, Shadowing the system and Video ROM BIOS even splattering the keyboard with chicken blood at midnight :=) Nothing seems to help. At least with the Award BIOS I was able to launch Windows and do some useful work before the system came crashing down. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've tried: NO Cache Cache enabled with A0000 to FFFFF marked as non-cacheable system/Video BIOS Shadowed Thanks, Scott Trimber (scottt@hpsadpj.hp.com) Signal Analysis Division Hewlett-Packard System Specifics: "Beaver" 386DX 33Mhz with 64K Cache 1Mb Viewperfect VGA 4Mb Ram Adaptec 1520 SCSI Adapter 300Mb HD 1.2 and 1.44 Mb floppy drives
