[comp.windows.ms] Ventura Upgrade

labodt@swift.cs.tcd.ie (02/28/91)

hello fellow netters,
I was wondering whether anybody out there could compare the different
versions of ventura publisher. I have got the version 2.0? prof ext
and would like to upgrade to the windows version. Can anybody tell me
how vp windows , vp 3.0 (dos) compare with vpprof 2.0?. Is it worth
upgrading and how much did you pay for the upgrade ?

Thank you for your help, if there is interest i will summarise.

tom

Personally I am very disappointed with my VP-Gem 2.0 to VPWIN 3.0
upgrade ($195+Tax). VPWIN does not show rotated text and the display is
totally unusabel in reduced view.

I am yet to get ATM fonts to work with Ventura (inspite of my having
applied the 12/90 patch which was supposed to fix it... I do need to try
playing with it a bit more.

And... VPWin is a dog when it comes to speed. Gem version just blazes
compared to the Windows version.

Anyone on the net pointing to my follies will be appreciated!!
