Hi, there has been much talk regarding the ATI VGA Wonder+ card. From what I have understood this card is much faster then the older ATI VGA Wonder (about 3.5 times faster), it supports up to 512K of video RAM, and comes with 2 button mouse, and drivers (Windows 3.0 - 640x480x256, 800x600x256, 1024x768x16, and others). I have learned from unofficial (well, semi-unofficial) sources that ATI will be announcing the release of a new ATI VGA Wonder+ in the next week or so. The new card will support up to 1MB of video RAM, will include a 3-button mouse, will work at 70Hz scan rate (if not supported by monitor it will step down to 60Hz), will run true 1024x768 interlaced and noninterlaced modes, and should included drivers mentioned above. From what my sources have relayed to me, owners of the old VGA Wonder card will be able to upgrade for approximatly $99-199 dollars depending on dollar (US, CAN)and the amount of memory (traded-in, and required). DISCLAIMER: For clearity I would like to once again restate that these is NOT OFFICIAL NEWS and is only meant for people who have recently posted questions or chit-chat on the net. I have no personal or professional ties with ATI. This is only to inform current or future users of ATI products such as myself. Frank Pikelner Technical Assistant York University frank@cs.yorku.ca
